Sudan, a forgotten war

Would like to invite you to an online event to learn about the current situation in Sudan.

The country has been ravaged by a civil war since April 2023, after experiencing six decades of instability, coups and war since its independence in 1956; over 11 million sudanese have been displaced internally or have fled the country in search of refuge, half a million children have died because of the famine. This is the world's worst humanitarian crisis according to the UN, yet British and European media rarely report on it and politicians seems to ignore it.

Sharath Srinivasan, Professor of International Politics in the Department of Politics and International Studies at the University of Cambridge, will explain what the current situaiton is and how the country has been brought into this catastrohy.
Rossella Miccio, President of EMERGENCY a charity that provide medical aid in war torn countries, will share her experience on the ground, having extensively operated in Sudan over the past years.

Join them online on Tuesday 10th June at 6:30pm BST by using this link: https://meet.jit.si/RareCracksTemptLeft
